Effect

When an action has been found successful its die strength is automatically sent to the value box in the Effects Line.

If a defense has been set, the label will turn bright red, just asking to be clicked. Doing so compares the die strength to the defense and writes the effect of the action into the Game Chat like so....

The Table: Deqqie creates a Little Effect (Def:89 Off:34).

Note that once again the two scores being compared have been tacked onto the end of the line, the defensive strength being Def:89 and the die strength being Off:34.

One of the many neat things about the ToAd is that modifiers are modifiers no matter how you shake them. The +10 on that magic +10 Long Sword can be used as an Offensive Pre Mod to better your chances of hitting a target, or as an Effective Post Mod to increase the damage done (it just cannot be used for both at the same time - that takes a +20 sword!). To do the latter, click on the silver button behind the Post Mods box before clicking This creates a pop-up box which is very similiar to the one used by the Offensive Line....

In fact, it's the exact same page used for Pre-Mods and works in the exact same fashion.

One of the sublimely beautiful things the Frog can do is decipher what an effect actually means. If a combat assertion is being used (meaning picked from a character's assertions using the Offensive pop-up) then its Lgaite will also have been sent back to the table controls, and might look something like this....

This jumble of numbers and slashes translates to the amount of wear and tear damage the attack does at each effect level. It starts with a Little Effect doing 11 points of wear damage and 0 wounds of tear damage, and it ends with an Excellent Effect doing 66 points of wear damage and 3 wounds of tear damage. With the game chat a message like this is sent back instead of the plain jane statement of effect....

The Table: Deqqie does 110 damage with a Little Effect (Def:89 Off:34).

Unfortunately, the Frog cannot tell whether mental or physical damage is being done, or whether this is damage being dealt or possible damage being healed by something like a Heal spell, so it is up to the character recieving the blow to record the change in vital statistics. This is done using the next line in the table controls, the Change line, and yes, it does report all alterations so we know the changes have been made.
