The border has two parts. In the north it separates Hazelred from the Mazelands and is championed by the city of Boughstark. In the west it is a line of fortresses separating Hazelred from the Stormlands and is presided over by Peart.
Both do the same thing, they keep subhumanoid raiders from running rampant over the countryside, but since they draw funding directly from the kingdom of Hazelred there exists immense competition and no small amount of enmity between the two.
For adventurers the northern border promises steady work but not much excitement. The western border, on the other hand, employs bounty hunters to venture into the Stormlands and will pay men for subhumanoid scalps. While not the prettiest way to make a living, there is no shortage of scalps to be harvested - providing one can keep ones own from being taken.
