Member Agreement

1.) COPYRIGHT & CONTRIBUTIONS: To protect the integrity of the game - aside from adventures, minis, stories/tales/image tales and characters with personality - everything you make using the Create section of this site (callings, races, situations, equipment, talents, troubles, skills, skill accessories, and organizations) are considered to be contributions to the system, meaning the people who run this site retain full rights to use or abuse it however we see fit. This includes any artwork you may attach to these items.

With adventures, minis, stories/tales/image tales and characters with personality the copyright remains with you. We may still delete the records from our system, but we will not reproduce the items (except for their presence on this site, obviously) without your permission. A "character with personality" is one with a definite name and role as a singular entity. "Sir Thomas Haggonhock" would be a character with personality. "Orc Guard" is not.

When it comes to contributing and creating for the ToAd....

1a.) You will not plagiarize other game systems or players to create stuff for the ToAd.

1b.) You will not hold the ToAd responsible for the content of items created by its players.

1c.) To use the movie ratings system, you will keep the content of what you create between G and PG-13, with the exception of stories/tales that allow for rated R and NC-17..

1d.) You will respect the right of the ToAd to delete and/or accidentally lose online material - which it may do without warning or explanation. Always print out the work you contribute!

2.) USER ETTIQUETTE: the ToAd exists for the specific purpose of having fun. The atmosphere is cooperative not competitive and certainly not combative. The ToAd reserves the right to delete any material and/or user accounts it finds offensive or disruptive.

3.) DEAD PROFILE TRIMMING: If half a year passes without any activity on your account we reserve the right to delete your profile/account in order to keep the size of the database low.

4.) CONNECTIONS: I will not hold the ToAd accountable for any actions or transactions which result from connections made through this site.

5.) AGREEMENT TO EXPERIMENT: The ToAd is highly experimental. It was not created by a company with deep financial pockets to invest. In fact, it was - for the most part - cobbled together with spare hours between 9 and 11 pm over the course of many years. It will occassionally change in ways which might cause you to retool your creations. Because of heavy database usage it may collapse under the stress of multiple users. While the ToAd will try to stay afloat, there is no guarantee that it will. The site could tank at any time and not resurface. You have been warned.

6.) SORRY NO REFUNDS: As stated above, the ToAd is more experiment than business. If you choose to become a paying member and then decide to go back to a free account, or if the game collapses, or if anything causes you to terminate your subscription before it has expired - sorry but we cannot refund money for unspent time.
